Critically acclaimed and highly sought after for his unique use of materials and mastery of his craft, visual artist Anton Del Castillo is among the country’s most celebrated in contemporary art. A local of Tondo, Manila, Del Castillo earned his formal training in the arts at the University of the Philippines’ School of Fine arts where he earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Fine Arts. Del Castillo’s career took off during his first show titled Under One Roof which was held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. He has since participated in over 60 group exhibitions and mounted 21 solo exhibitions all over the globe. He has also received numerous awards and accolades, including the Schoeni Prize at the Sovereign Asian Art Competition, a finalist position at the Oita Sculpture Competition, and a grant from the Asian Cultural Council.
