Prior to gaining acclaim as a visual artist, Olmedo first busied himself in his architectural practice from the sixties until the early seventies, after which he decided to pursue painting fulltime. Known for his works in Figurative Surrealism and Expressionism, this pastel piece is one significant example, with his trademark distorted and haunting figures taking center stage.
