ABOUT THE WORK

Before Mark Justiniani delved into his mirror-based installations, he was an assiduous painter, a member of Salingpusa, and a creator of surreal imagery. Justiniani presents to us a man in profile and holding a staff. He may presumably be someone who has a disability or in old age but he is shown astride on a half-moon, half-sun celestial body, confidently sailing through the night sky. His concerns are no longer of the world, but a spiritual realm that is unforgettable as a dream and punctuated with glowing orbs of stars.
