Recalling the corpulent figures of Fernando Botero, this work by Mark Justiniani reveals three figures, their backs turned to us, who are performing in front of an audience, dollar bills fluttering in the air in mid-motion. They seem to be playing a version of musical chair, in that they are competing for the two lone chairs that put on the stage. Based on their attributes (laurel leaves for the artist, and crowns for the royalty), the figures this time provide the entertainment to the common people, rather than vice versa, in comical performance which is a satiric examination of power in this day and age.
