Anita Magsaysay-Ho’s vision of flowers in vases is one of a gentle domestic idyll in which a sense of innocence reigns. With its bright blossoms, which attract our attention, the pictures remain discreet and wholly devoid of grand gestures. We admire in the painting of Magsaysay-Ho the splendor of arranged natural flowers — their luxuriance, their delicate sheen — which at one moment look like tiny swatches of old silk and at another, resembling storybook flora. The three pictures and what lies behind them are an ode to nature and living.
