Cid Reyes studied painting in Rome at the Accademia di Belle Arti, as an Italian government scholar. He then took up his Art History studies at the City Lit Institute in London, England. He wrote the landmark book of interviews, “Conversations on Philippine Art,” published by the Cultural Center of the Philippines. A prolific writer, Reyes is the author/co-author of close to forty art books, and has written hundreds of art reviews and exhibition notes for his weekly art column “Gallery Hopping” in TODAY. Cid Reyes is the author of choice of National Artists Arturo, BenCab, J. Elizalde Navarro, and Napoleon V. Abueva. As an artist, Reyes has held 17 solo exhibitions. He received a “Best in Art Criticism” award from the Art Association of the Philippines (AAP). Cid Reyes authored the coffee-table book “Edwin Wilwayco.”
